Dovecot

Dirleton Castle held all kinds of cool things. It was also the site of this dovecot. It is actually a very well-preserved building. They use to keep doves in this building to use as food.
There was a hole in the ceiling that the birds could fly in and out of.

Each one of these holes would hold a bird. So you can see that they had lots of birds!
