So being in Bath, one can’t help but feel that she is living in a Jane Austen novel. And being in a Jane Austen novel is the best because her heroines always find love at the end. To celebrate, we have visited the Jane Austen Centre here in Bath that talks about the time when Jane visited Bath in her youth and then lived here during her later life after her father retired.
We also felt compelled to buy the movie Persuasion based on the novel by said author (the 2007 version by Masterpiece Theater) and we have been watching it every night. (We feel compelled to watch it every night since movies you buy in Britain won’t play in the USA and we need to get our money’s worth). It is fun to watch it because the Bath scenes were all filmed right here in Bath! So we recognize places like the Royal Crescent, the Circus, the Pump Rooms, and the Assembly Rooms. It is even more fun and meaningful to watch the movie now that we have seen these places.
